WHO SAYS SLAVERY ISN’T FORBIDDEN IN ISLAM? 🧕

About a week ago, I got into a conversation with this man, Scottie, and we discussed Islam. One objection he had against Islam was that Islam doesn’t ban slavery!

I was really confused over this matter. I could not believe that the Quran doesn’t stop slavery because it’s the last divine scripture after all and I have a very strong faith as a Muslim.❤️Alhamdulliah, but I still have very less knowledge on Islam so, I consulted my Islamiat teacher, Sir Hafiz. (Hafiz means the one who has committed the Quran to his mind and he had read the translation as well and revised it too), therefore, my teacher was the best person I could consult. I stayed after class and addressed him, “Sir, I wanted to ask you a question. We all know that slavery is bad and it’s banned in many countries, but it’s still there in many countries and why did Quran, being a complete code of life didn’t ban slavery?”, I said with an anxious expression.

I was shocked by his reply. He said, “Islam has banned slavery, Manahil.” After listening to what my teacher said, I went home and sent an 📧 email to scottiestoybox.com

Here are the screenshots of the email.

It’s just so sad that people have so many misconceptions about Islam. I wish that everyone could understand the good things in Islam, but they just don’t.

Anyways, this week has been very tiring. Ugh! There were so many tests to prepare and things to do. Hope you all have a good weekend. Lots of love.💕

  1. I can’t find any suitable words to explain….I was reading all your comments on a post by Scottie (where he put a cartoon to make fun of Islam)…. And the way you explained Islam to an atheist is fabulous….
This is the correct way to make others understand about Islam…some people can get angry and start saying wrong words in comment fir such post…but the way you kept patience and keep on replying was amazing…. I read and re-read all your comments….
I hope Allah bless you with more and more knowledge and power…..

    Aameen

    1. Awe, thank you. Actually I wasn’t there to prove Scottie wrong or to force my belief on him, I just wanted him to know the real situation and that what he thinks is wrong, it was his choice whether he believed me or not.

  2. Islam is the religion who actually started to free slaves at first. Hence every Muslim should read the Quran with translation and learn it in depth. I just can’t understand those people who know nothing and don’t even bother researching but start targetting Islam. Man, what the heck is wrong with people.

  3. Islam over the course of history esp in Arabian peninsula , have actually eradicated slavery.
If you see there is freeing of slaves, marrying the slaves. Etc. Even the evangelist agrees to it, who are miscreationists, who distort and misrepresent Islam .
These misconceptions if you see on youtube Google have already been dealt with in detail, lots of debates on dawah channel etc are there, Recently Dr David wood evangelical christian had with Br Muhammad Hijab (Islamic researcher) .
But you better focus on your studies sister.
And learn the Deen from a Imam so that it’s slow and steady like in a methodological way.

    1. Yes, you’re right. I do focus on my studies, but I’m often distracted. I get intrigued and curious about new stuff and I’m always eager to learn more so, rather than revising my syllabus, I would study something else. Anyways, tomorrow’s my result for the 1rst quarter Exams, do pray. May Allah bless you. Ameen.

  4. This is indicative of a general misunderstanding that followers of Faiths revealed before Islam have about the Revelation of Muhammad: They take His first teachings about a subject, and say that these show He was in favour of, or took a benign stance toward, one nefarious thing or another. A measured, complete study of the Quran is the only way to arrive at a true understanding of Who Muhammad was.
